Our LexGLUE paper was Accepted in the ACL Main Conference. Happy to continue to push forward with further updates to the project in the months and years to come. As an academic and technical field, we need to continue to marry general NLP techniques to the intrinsic Complexity of Legal Language — obviously we still have great distance to cover but we are moving in the right direction !

It has been a year since I have reported on a state adopting the duty of technology competence for lawyers , but now there is another: Hawai?i, bringing the total number of states that have adopted the duty to 40. Effective Jan. 1, 2022, the state’s Rules of Professional Conduct were amended to revise Comment 6 to Rule 1.1 , pertaining to competence, to add the duty of technology competence.

With the nomination of Zsolt Ződi representing Hungary, the European Legal Technology Association was able to further consolidate its Ambassador network. Zsolt graduated as a lawyer in 1991. He then taught legal theory till 1995, when he left academia, and joined Wolters Kluwer. He worked there for 15 years in different positions, as an editor, publisher and publishing director, and participated in different publishing initiatives including numerous legal technology projects.
