AI Doesn’t Replace the Legal Blogger, AI is a Tool for the Legal Blogger

Kevin O'Keefe

Following my post yesterday about how AI will make for more effective legal blogging, I received a response over on LinkedIn that the use of AI in legal blogging would result in blogs without any substantive content. A good discussion ensued with my taking the position that the use of an AI-powered publishing assistant in blogging would result in more substantive legal blog content.

Would You Join a Webinar on How I’m Currently Using ChatGPT?

Dennis Kennedy

Would you help me out with a LinkedIn poll I’m currently running? I’ve been told by several people (yes, more than one) that I should share what I’ve been doing with ChatGPT for personal productivity, planning, and innovation, and give some practical tips on those approaches. I’ve been doing a ton of experiments and have found some great uses. These people have noted the potential benefits of my insights on my own practical use of this AI tool to boost personal productivity, streamline planning

Quantifying the Value of an AI-Powered Publishing Assistant to a Legal Blogger, An Early Assessment

Kevin O'Keefe

Can you quantify the value of AI to a legal blogger? Let’s have some fun looking at the question. For lawyers just starting to blog – and maybe just starting to practice law – who use AI to stragically identify niche areas of the law to practice in and blog on, the upside in revenue is pretty strong. There are many examples of blogging lawyers who focused on niches going uncovered who have done very well for themselves.

To Avoid Sanctions, the Dumb Lawyers Now Say They Were Tricked By ChatGPT to Use Fictitious Research

Kevin O'Keefe

It was crazy enough to hear that lawyers were dumb enough to cite cases pulled from ChatGPT without ever reading them. Things only get wilder in the lawyers’ defense of sanctions. They blamed ChatGPT for tricking them into including fictitious legal research in a brief supporting a personal injury claim against Avianca Airlines. Tricked. Really? Not only did the cases not exist, but airlines referenced in the cases cited didn’t even exist.

Empathetic Communication: How ChatGPT is Transforming Doctor-Patient Relationships and Its Potential for Legal Blogging

Will AI Be Writing a Lawyer’s Blog Posts?

Kevin O'Keefe

Will AI be writing a lawyer’s blog posts? It’s a question I’ve been thinking about a lot over the last six months. I see AI as a way for a lawyer to amplify their passion, expertise and commentary. AI serves as a blogging assistant.

LawToolBox-NetDocuments Integration Unifies Lawyers’ Calendars Across Outlook, Teams and NetDocuments

Time and advice, Abraham Lincoln famously said, are a lawyer’s stock in trade. If so, then the two most important tools in a law practice may just be the calendar and the document management system. Through the calendar, the lawyer manages time, and through documents the lawyer dispenses and memorializes advice. Given this, the recently announced integration of rules-based legal calendaring software LawToolBox with document management system NetDocuments seems as natural a pairing as hot fudge a
