Kevin Rose of The New York Times reports the group, which originated on social media, opposes regulations and believes the benefits of AI far outweigh the potential harms. EA emerged in response to by the name of a movement by the name “Effective Altruism” which promotes slow going on AI due to its potential risks.

Judges and lawyers in the UK have now been offered guidance to use AI chatbots in legal proceedings, Digit News of Scotland reported yesterday Judges will be allowed to use ChatGPT to help write rulings despite warnings that AI can invent cases that never happened – a lower risk when lawyers are crazy enough to have AI write memorandums and authority from scratch, as opposed where cases are cited and decisions are written from the record.
