While many are looking to put the brakes on AI, a pro-tech movement called “Effective Accelerationism” is pushing for unrestricted progress in AI and other emerging technologies. Kevin Rose of The New York Times reports the group, which originated on social media, opposes regulations and believes the benefits of AI far outweigh the potential harms. EA emerged in response to by the name of a movement by the name “Effective Altruism” which promotes slow going on AI due to its potential risks.

Studio, Inc. , 2023 U.S. App. LEXIS 32063 (2d Cir. 2023), I already had my red grading pen out. The low grade the court earned is a consequence of it losing many points by misstating the law, misapplying the law, and especially skipping over the part where it was supposed to share its analysis and instead just stated its conclusion.

Every SAD Scheme lawsuit is problematic, though the specific reasons may differ. Each lawsuit creates dozens or hundreds of individual dramas, few of which receive any public scrutiny, and usually comes at the cost of due process and the rule of law. Thus, I feel a little weird blogging each SAD Scheme case, because it might imply that the covered case deserves more criticism than thousands of others like it.
