Wolters Kluwer 6th Annual Leading Edge Conference

Legal Talk Network had the privilege of attending the 6th Annual Wolters Kluwer Leading Edge Conference in Riverwoods, Illinois just outside of Chicago. Nestled back into the woods at the conference center, the attendees were welcomed by the organizers from Wolters Kluwer, who could not have been nicer (please see list of organizers below). They took care of all us weary travelers, making sure we ate and were properly introduced to one another.

Data Breach Report: The Good, The Bad, It is All Ugly

As we’ve seen with the recent Equifax settlement, data breaches can have a huge impact on organizations and those individuals effected. The Internet Society’s Online Trust Alliance recently released their Cyber Incident & Breach Trends Report. The first heading of the report says it all, “2018 – Some Better, Some Worse, All Bad.” Some Better: The total number of incidents were down in most areas.

Disney Sues Locast for Providing Local Television Stations Online

(“SFCN,” the parent company of Locast) for allowing consumers to watch local television affiliates online through the Locast service. You can read the lawsuit here. 2019 NALA Conference & Expo

Held in Scottsdale, Arizona, the 2019 NALA Conference & Expo was perhaps their hottest conference to date with temperatures clocking in at 112 degrees. But the heat didn’t keep the association from a record attendance. Paralegals were enthusiastically involved and traveled from all over the country to join in on the educational fun. This year’s billing included over 30 sessions and an opportunity to earn up to 13 CLE hours with online options-for-credit for those not able to attend in person
