The Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism is pleased to announce that the Illinois Supreme Court has appointed John K. Kim as Chair and Justice Sharon O. Johnson as Vice-Chair of the Commission on Professionalism. Kim assumes the role of Chair from Martin V. Sinclair, Jr., whose term on the Commission expires on December 31, 2023. Sinclair has served on the Commission since 2015 and was appointed Chair in 2019.

The Illinois Supreme Court recently announced amendments aimed at improving accessibility and fostering access to justice in Illinois courts for people with disabilities. The Supreme Court’s “significant amendments” to M.R. 25307 and its Policy on Access for People with Disabilities are effective January 1, 2024. All Illinois courts must “report compliance with M.R. 25307” by August 1, 2024, according to the press release.
