There’s another “Godfather of the Legal Blogosphere.” Rafał Chmielewski shares in a post on LinkedIn that during an appearance on the Ben Prawniniczenia podcast, Szymon Kwiatkowski called Chmielewski “the godfather of the Polish legal blogosphere.” To which Chmielewski responded, not boasting, but sharing that his blogging did enable him to achieve his dream of going out on his own to start something different.

On March 7, 2024, the European Court of Justice (“CJEU”) rendered its judgment in an appeal against a decision of the EU General Court ( C-479/22P ). In the original decision, the General Court decided that the information contained in a press release by OLAF (a European anti-fraud organization) regarding fraud committed by an unnamed scientist was not personal data as the scientist was not identifiable from the press release (for more on the General Court’s decision, see our blog post here ).

An American Bar Association council recently vote d that an alternative law school admissions test called JD-Next will not be granted “test parity” with the LSAT or GRE, citing the need for more data to determine its reliability in predicting success in law school. The vote by the ABA Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar (Council) determined that the ABA would not fully recognize JD-Next as an approved law school admissions assessment under ABA Standard 503.
